Alright, made a throwaway for this.
So about five years ago I cut the cord on cable. I haven't watched network news in fucking years. I go crazy when I visit a friend or parent and they have the news on. So many commercials, so many talking heads injecting their opinion or spin on the event/story/whatever. Fuck em.
I cut the cord on social media about a year ago, for the most part. I deleted my old reddit account that was about 10 years old and created a new one, only accessed via VPN, I2P network or Tor network (depending on what device I'm using to connect to it) and use it for just reading hobby related stuff that I can't find on message forums that I still partake in.
I'm starting to cut the cord on big tech in general, namely, the clearnet. Lately I've been spending about 50% of my internet browsing time on the 'darknet'. Either I2P eepsites or Tor .onion sites. There isn't a lot of updated content though so it's not like I'm wasting hours and hours in front of a screen like I used to.
One thing I can't seem to find is a good source of news on the darkweb. News that is available from the .I2P or .onion site, only accessible via the network of the viewers choice (tor or I2P, maybe freenet but I haven't fucked with it much)
Any pedes be willing to help with a project to bring a reliable source of news to the darknet? I'm not requesting any journalist, I'm simply requesting scraping text-based news/data from clearnet sites to provide a reliable source to those on the darkweb. We shouldn't have to go to some MSM website to get current news.
So anyone willing or able to help out?
To specify: All I want is help adding content to a darkweb site that is very basic, text based news. I'm still trying to figure out if I want to automate the process by using some sort of scraper, or if it will be manual submission based to a very lightweight blog.
Submissions would be formatted like.
[MM/DD/YY] [TITLE OF NEWS STORY HERE] [Source 1] [Source 2] [Source 3]
Then you click the source you want to read from, but that source's text is also hosted on the darkweb site.
That way the reader isn't forced to read just one source. If it's an event noteworthy enough, it'll be reported by more than one source.
Also, someone needs to get OANN and NewsMax on the fuckin' darkweb like now.
Big tech is not our friends pedes. Fuck em.
I saw an rss reader site on i2p with a lot of news feeds.
