Somebody should compile the exact language of what was said, I've heard so many different versions...
I tend to think that the "raid" was not a raid, but rather the CIA was running it all along and shut it off, removed it. So technically "the US government" shut it down.
Trump's fam is just telling them they know, and giving them an out, a way to come out with plausible deniability in return for the server evidence. If the CIA gives up the server then they can claim to save the day and be the one's who raided it.
Powell says she doesn't know if it's the good/bad guys because they are waiting for them to give it up.
That's just one part of the strategy. I'm sure the Trump team is holding a lot of cards right now, and trying to play the right ones at the right time. They might not even need that. They may be playing that card later.
