The "uh... no..." was in response to your claim that he doesn't have a right to self defense. I will repeat the first part of my statement: "even if true (every source I have seen has said that he was LOANED a longarm from his friend, which is legal in Wisconsin), him having an allegedly illegally procured firearm does not remove his right to defend his life from violent criminals."

You cannot be committing a crime and claim self defense. If that gun was a straw purchase (which he is ADMITTING TO WAPO) then there's no world in which a jury will acquit him.

He wont be charged for murder. At best, unlawful possession of a weapon which is best case scenario.

Even homeowner felons who illegally obtain weapons and defend their homes will still be charged for illegal possession but not murder in self defense cases.
