I am from the UK and I know we get a bad rep on here but honestly the nanny state govt used to be more "Please do this, be nice, don't make a fuss, there's a good chap". Not ideal but it was something we all just laughed at and proceeded to ignore.

The press and blue checkmarks have been relentless with this rhetoric. Every-time I talk to a European and talk gets round to Brexit, saying I voted leave I feel like I am announcing I am a Klansman to a black guy
