Subconscious operates thousands of times faster than our "observer" or conscious mind. When we think or process information our subconscious is so fast that it doesnt even use words but rather pictures or flashes that represent thought. Give it a try, start debating with yourself in your mind and notice how your subconscious gives immediate arguments without you actually hearing the whole sentence. The idea of hypnosis, where information is given so fast that our brains cannot counter it, is not exactly correct, such instances may only happen when the target has no counter argument or adversary thought to begin with.
