John and Yoko were enthroned in a room at the posh Royal York Hotel (no cheap motels for them), laying in bed and dropping occasional nuggets of wisdom to adoring throngs of reporters and cameramen. They even hired a skywriter to put "War Is Over If You Want It" in the skies above the city.
