Been hearing of more cases around me and know several people who have gotten it now. I'm not a doomer, but it does seem like there is a legit spike and some of the people I know do have persistent chronic symptoms after getting over it that don't seem to align with standard influenza type a or b. Curious what you all are seeing in your various areas of the country. Would def caution folks in USA in at risk groups to take it more seriously as we go into winter. IMO masks don't do much and may actually increase spread due to people constantly touching and adjusting them then touching doors etc. Washing hands often isn't a bad idea though.

Stay safe and healthy everyone.

Yup. Even where I live that never had that many cases. They are going up and out city council decided to extend the the 3 month mask mandate to an additional 5 months, making 8 total. yay.

No, Texas shows a rise partially because the El Paso and other border areas are treating a lot of non-citizens. If a person can cross the border, and they can, and walk in an ER they're home free.

So yeah the cases are in the hospitals in some areas, not all of them are actually the chinese flu... but overall bed occupancy due to chinese flu patients is low-ish.

Cases is a useless metric with the current tests. Do not fret. Of course the news is leading with the story every single day. Turn it off.
