Didn't someone call that they would distract with some kind of shooting?

Unpopular opinion:

I don't give a shit about so-called "mass shootings."

My reasoning:

Depending on what criteria you want to use, between 100 and 200 people per year are killed in "mass shootings." For the sake of generalities, we'll call these indiscriminate killings in public places where a firearm was the mode of harm. We're supposed to believe that this is a major threat to public safely and there is no limit to the amount of civil liberties that should be curtailed because "not one more" person will get mass-shooted as a result.

Contrast this with over 10,000 people per year being killed as a result of drunk driving, and the narrative starts to fall apart. We lose as many people in one week to drunk driving as we do in one year to "mass shootings." Yet, where's the public outrage? Where are the calls to mandate every new vehicle be manufactured with an ignition interlock and subsidize retrofitting existing vehicles with interlocks and create an ABV limit and require different licenses to consume different classes of alcoholic beverages and create beverage size restrictions and ... ?

Compared to impaired driving, "mass shootings" are not a threat to public safety. We are being deliberately fed a fear porn narrative that has no purpose other than propaganda to sway public opinion in support of further restricting 2A rights.

If you genuinely want to fix mass shootings, fix the criminal justice and mental healthcare systems. That would actually probably go a long way to fixing drunk driving as well.
