Why is it the 'educators' always appear to be autistic.. in the bad way? When I used to debate people on facebook about politics all the dumbest people in the group were teachers.
I think it comes down to people in those positions often being at the perfect level to think that they're more intelligent than they really are.
Truly dumb people are fairly aware that they don't know everything, and can be convinced with a good argument. Truly intelligent people are distinctly aware that they don't know everything, and often seek out logical arguments on either side and follow the ones that make sense.
However, a lot of people are in that sweet spot where they can be convinced that they already understand everything (and this is enforced daily in soft-degrees within colleges and through the media). They believe that a counter-narrative is just some "conspiracy theory" without actually looking into.
To the point of teachers who generally fall in this group, sure you ought to have a college degree to teach, but you really only need to have a greater than average understanding of the material for the grade and subject you teach. Everything else, like understanding how government works, what a successful economy involves, or any number of knowledge bases important to our "democracy" are completely unnecessary for that goal.
Because an educator in a topic is just barely competent in that topic. If a math teacher were actually good at math they would be a successful engineer/scientist. If an English teacher were actually good at English they would be a successful author.

It's hard to keep up with the rules. At one point they wanted people who live in another household to eat outside. (It's a bit cold to do that.) The current recommendation seems to be Zoom Thanksgiving. Wolf didn't bring back the colored lockdown scheme yet, but Philly has stricter lockdown than other parts of the state. They are wanting no indoor dining in restaurants until at least 1/2021, amongst other things. RIP more small businesses and restaurants. You may see more snowbirds in the future.
Edit: we had a traffic light (red yellow green) lockdown in the beginning of the year. We were in green most recently but the definition of green changed a few times.

I was reading the gospel of John, saw Jesus keep referring to how everything he does, he keeps referring to his Father, (ie my Father sent me, I only do my Father's will, I do nothing except that my Father has sent me to do it, etc) It dawned on me, the irresponsibility of the fathers mainly and mothers secondarily and instilled a type of irresponsibility to their children, and everything going on is a manifestation of that. Everyone talks about being responsible fathers and mothers, but no one talked about being responsible sons and daughters. Did a lot of research on the subject, and came to the conclusion if Jesus Christ is the solution, then his filial piety was at the center of it, as he was even willing to die in his filial piety towards his Father.
So this is my focus as a person and as a pastor. I try to treat everyone as if their father was right there watching me talk with them, and I try to treat them as if my own father was watching me talk with them, both my biological father and spiritual Father. And it seems to me, filial piety and/or the absence of it pretty much explains that odd feeling of how everything was off/wrong, and the solution to right those things.
