I always hated the things he'd say, and I'd argue loudly with the TV, but I never felt ill. Just really, really annoyed that he'd get up and say things that were tantamount to "We're going to shatter this nation's foundations," and people were like "Black Man is President, Hooray!"

Imagine that. For eight years of your life, everyone celebrates everything you do, not because any of it is good, but because they feel like the color of your skin justifies everything.
