That’s not just riot police. That’s the state government of Georgia unleashing the Corrections riot squad for prisons into the public. Not sure about legality in Georgia, but in other states, corrections officers are not fully commissioned police officers and are legally not entitled to the same powers of detention/arrest. The downtown area of Atlanta is now shocking. It used to be nice with shops restaurants abd festivities. Its now filled with homeless, mattresses on the ground, garbage, poo and pee everywhere and flies so thick you cant see walking around the capitol.
That's just the form most Antifa take while exposed to sunlight.
It is what happens in just about every democrat run cities and towns.
I dont know when it was ever "nice" down there. Locals never hang out downtown. It's for tacky tourists and convention goers.

Some areas were shitty before. But when I was there last Friday...it was like the apocalypse all through the entire city and people were worse than ever.
At the first off ramp off I20 there was a woman with her bra on outside her clothes high and stumbling in front of cars and she finally fell to the ground and did not get up. There were many people sleeping on mattress on the streets, people yelling at no one and a woman with colored marker scribbles all over her face asking everyone for a light.

We used to go down regularly for Braves games and it has gotten worse and worse over they years. So glad they moved the stadium out of there. Much more pleasant experience

She's always trying to get me out of the apartment to go do something because I hang around home all the time. I like going hiking and half the places by me that are state parks don't have a mask requirement - as long as you're on your own in the woods on a trail, but you're expected to put one on if you're in a group or can't distance. The county parks by me all mandate it just to enter the park. It's asinine. and I'm sure I go off into the woods, and the moment a couple hikers come the other way and they are wearing masks, they're going to say shit to me for not wearing one, and the moment that happens, I'm done. I don't go anywhere because I'm not putting up with having Karens make snide comments to me about not wearing a mask and it sickens me to have to comply just to go into a store.
Protest isn't going to get this to go away. Open defiance isn't going to get this to go away, all you'll succeed in doing is becoming a magnet for Karens to descend on you and get you kicked out of places while people try to take video and shame you on social media. The Governor isn't going to care. I'd just hike in rural areas if you can and take it off as soon as you get through the public area and ignore any morons comments.
