He most definitely was going to shoot him. He went up to Kyle with his hands up in a false showing of non-aggression and then quick drew a pistol on him. That was when his bicep was shot
He already had the glock in his hands when he was faking non-aggression. Regardless, he screwed himself by later saying in an interview that his one mistake was not killing Kyle. Now there's absolutely no question that shot was also in self defense.
Two of them did die, however, if I recall during one part of the video there was shooting in the background that wasn’t from Kyle. It’s possible that one of them who died was shot again afterwards but not from Kyle

Glad to see Kyle is able to spend the holidays with his friends and loved ones, and I don't mean to discount all of the patriots who donated to his bail fund, but he's not truly free yet. There's still a case pending, and we all need to keep that fact in mind. This is a win, but the war is still raging until the young man is acquitted.

I am glad he is back with family where he belongs. I am hopeful and cautiously optimistic that his obvious self-defense will by acknowledged in court and that he walks free completely cleared of wrongdoing.

Good for Kyle. He never should have been held for so long. While I understand the crimes being charged are serious, did anyone genuinely believe this kid was not going to show up in court? Those are the standards for bail.
No he proved himself by handing himself in to the police. There is no way he was a flight risk, the scummy judge just wanted to set bail as high as possible.
