I don’t know how difficult this would be from a programming perspective, but it would make sense to prevent new members from posting links. Give them access to everything else, as text posts are harmless, but prevent links.
I agree. But if you think about it, preventing new members from posting links may actually make the mods lives easier, because they won’t have to waste as much time banning the spammers.
How about a large warning icon on new accounts? This is a known problem...
