Often just not upvoting is enough, or deporting if it's should be here at all.

To get that power, go to settings under the gear to the right hand side and change community styling to off. You may want to do your downvote then change it back to on, if you don't care for the new view. In addition, it'll requires an extra step before you DV any top level posts.
