Well, over the last 55 years: They helped my wife change her tire in the pouring rain. They picked me up off the roadway when my leg was shattered by a car while riding my bike, and rushed me to the hospital in the squad car, it was that bad. They caught the POS that broke into my Jeep Wagoneer. They arrested my violent alcoholic Dad while he was beating the shit out of my Mom, and broke her collar bone. His multiple arrests saved her life - and his. He is 30 years sober, and credits the police. My Grandma lived next door to a city cop, and every time I went over to shovel her snow, he had done it already.
I could go on, but... I think I answered the question you asked.

And, despite all of that, a police officer will put a full 15 rounds into you if you ever try to remove a tryant from government. But enjoy your shoveled snow.
Live near DC? How about driving to D.C to open carry your rifle? Let us know what happens. Or simply not wear a mask while walking around DC, especially after curfew if they have one. I met a lady just two days ago that received a $1,000 fine for not wearing a mask while walking around OUTSIDE in DC.
