PRC is People's Republic of China. That is who controls mainland China after the Chinese Civil War, which is technically in a truce situation now. We call them "communist China" here, however I personally would consider their current govt to be more "fascist" in nature.
ROC is the Republic of China, which controls the island of Taiwan and some other small islands off the southern coast of China. They were basically somewhat of a "loose" dictatorship at the beginning, but are now evolving into a proper republican democracy.
ROC was the legitimate govt of China during WW2. Commies took over in 1949. ROC fled to island of Taiwan.
Republican Nixon started process of recognizing PRC as the legitimate govt of China in 1972. Democrat Jimmy Carter finalized the process in 1979 by moving our Embassy from Taipei to Beijing.
The USA should be supporting open and capitalist nations and governments. Therefore, ROC over PRC!!!
We really need to switch our diplomatic recognition from the PRC back to the ROC.

The ROC isn't so great either. When they landed in taiwan they enacted land/wealth redistribution like what they did in cuba.
CCP is worse obviously, but I'd rather not have either.
