Been saying this for awhile now. It essentially gives the large corporations total control over the markets and employment. They will get to decide who and what is deemed essential and non essential. Hell, they already are in the pilot phase.
During the corona lockdowns, all the big corporations were deemed "essential". If you ran a small restaurant that feeds people, you are non-essential. Once you go down that road of classifying people's livelihoods as either essential non-essential, it makes it way too easy for the government to trample all over individual rights.
I'm going out of my way to only buy from small businesses, even if it means tightening the belt, and using less utilities. I won't sell out my country for more money in my pocket. How do you destroy a monopoly? Create a competing business. How do you create a monopoly? Outlaw the competition.
