I would look to my prior military friends for leadership.

I've been a civilian my whole life, sure I'm a good hunter and a darn good shot... but I'm no commander.

Find veterans, combat veterans preferably. Even if it is small scale stuff, you and a squads worth of men.. one experienced leader can make all the difference in the world.
