Not this again . . . The message refers to an "absentee ballot request form". These are being mass-mailed by any organization that wants to mass mail them. Nobody is requesting them from this organization. Nobody requested one from this organization, because anybody who wants one can just go to the Georgia state website and download one, which can be filled out online and either printed out and mailed/faxed to the Registrar or submitted as an e-mail attachment. https://sos.ga.gov/index.php/Elections/absentee_voting_in_georgia This Dem gorup is just trying to get as many Dems as possible to request absentee ballots in time for the runoff, and the text message is being used to confirm phone numbers of active voters and try to recruit volunteers ("Will you help us speak with other voters in your neighborhood?").

Either you, or someone who used to have your phone number, or someone with a similar number that got entered into a database wrong, is either a registered Democrat in Georgia or lives in a Dem-heavy area. There is nothing remotely suspicious about this.

Sure... so they're just texting random people, not verifying their name, address, ANYTHING... but they're going to send them an absentee ballot that they requested. WTF planet are you on?

Why wouldn't they do that? The Democrat party is building its base on clueless/ lazy/transient people who don't get around to registering to vote or voting or requesting absentee ballots in time for an election, unless somebody badgers them to do so. They can send out these ballot request forms by the millions, and most of the people who would be induced by the mailings to request a ballot, are people who are too disorganized and unmotivated to have done this on their own initiative. In other words, exactly the same subset of the population that is easily swayed to the Democrats' "everything is so unfair, you deserve lots of free stuff" message. Sure there are motivated Democrats too, but they already took the initiative. This kind of mass-mailing and follow-up texting is designed to scrape the bottom of the barrel, and Dem operatives know that's where additional likely Dem voters can be found/made.

This organization is not going to send you an absentee ballot. They're saying they sent you the form to request one. That form directs you to submit it to the Registrar directly, either by mail, fax, or e-mail. Only the Registrar can send you an absentee ballot.
