I keep seeing this said among people who are on our side. My question for the people who say this is why? Why would you accept it?
I understand that Constitutionally it would be legitimate at that point, but I think this goes way beyond the Constitution. We know what's at stake here, we know exactly what's on the line and what we will lose with a Biden administration because they've been telling us exactly what they want to do if they have power for the past 4 years. This is good vs. evil and even if there wasn't any fraud I think accepting a Biden presidency is accepting the death of our country.
If Biden won legitimately, it would continue to provide faith in the checks and balances within the system. If he won fair and square, I'd walk away pissed, but I'd respect the outcome, because at the very least you can know that your individual voice was respected, that the rules were followed, and that the winner is the rightful person to be there. Yes, there would still be problems with his policies, but at least these policies would be kept in check with, again, the checks and balances that the American Constitution/rule of law provides.
A legitimate win from either side, no matter how inconvenient to supporters, is enough to walk away because we remain beholden to the standard of a free society. When we all play by the rules, we respect the rules even when they don't work in our favor.
The biggest problem with an illegitimate win is that it opens the door to never following the constitution ever again. Therein lies the critical issue.
You now legitimize and incentivize fraud, criminality, corruption, and any other heinous act you can think of because you'd lose the standard from which to evaluate our behavior. The law exists to provide that standard - without it, it's just a jungle of rationalizations and public lies. This is the default state of the planet, and this is why the USA is the greatest country on Earth.
Unfortunately the evidence is out, it's not legitimate, and this is why everyone must stand tall and never give an inch. We lose the standard, we lose everything.
