I LOVE MY COUNTRY. I was a /pol/ lurker during 2015-2017, I have contributed to Intel analytics inside the JSOC community and worked with DIA, CIA, NSA, DHS, FBI, and contractor type companies. I deployed 5 times to Afghan and Syria and have a Bronze Star w/ Valor device. 75th Ranger Regiment Squad leader was my last position after doing EW and TS duties in RRC.

I cried the day after the election; not because Trump lost, but because I saw my country for what it was becoming. I cried knowing how the world would see us and to see the pedestal we had been on go down a few pegs. My family tried to comfort me but I was enraged and asked to be alone.

I've been out for 2 years now and most military personnel I was around supported the President and the amount of distaste for these agencies shouldn't be held against the lower plebs. They are patriots just like yourselves. WE WILL SUCCEED.

When I was in Ranger School I remember a cadre telling me "One day our country will be under attack. It is up to you , as Rangers; to train and lead a militia to maintain our country." I always thought he was crazy but now I see the reality. Many of my friends contact me daily and we see the posts in PM being blocked on FB and Twitter. We see the one sidedness.

Gen. Milley said the US Military will have no position in post election conflicts. I think many will return home regardless at some point to defend their homes. The veteran community is observing and for the most part they will obey their oath.

My family will not live under tyranny and they will grow up in a free nation. Even if their father, son, brother, isn't alive to see it happen.

I haven't had the courage to make this sacrifice in the past. You never wavered from that. I want to do more. It's time. You know it. I know it. It's time to make the opposition know it.

ya most vets are like that. It's not the same as Hillary losing in 2016. The constitution is the Constitution and it will be upheld by stronger men than the other side

Of course Trump won. In a LANDSLIDE. He's known all along the Global Swamp would cheat and how they would do it. He baited them and drove them mad with fear so they'd be desperate enough to go ALL in. He caught them and is now revealing and ultimately destroying their entire corrupt national and international systems of control including Big Tech and Corporate Media. Our jobs are to pray, guard our hearts and minds against the 24/7 psy ops, keep up morale, spread the word and find ways to be supportive and public. #FlagsOut

Gonna ask a frank question here.

If the left and the swamp are the existential threat that we perceive them to be, then why hasn't there been a military coup yet?

(I'm NOT saying there should be one)

Throughout history, military coups have been incredibly common and have often been the only way that a nation actually changes its power dynamic (whether for good or bad). Citizen uprisings, while ideal and glamorized, typically are less successful, and would be quite difficult to pull off in the US where there are just too many strategic borders and points of attack.

Again, I am just asking questions. And this question leaves open the possibility that a military coup could totally backfire on our perception and the end result would not be some glamorous and patriotic right wing nation.

Thoughts?

Because our oaths, creeds, and traditions are ingrained into us

Somewhere around O-5/O-6, I think that starts to vary or erode. Going into GO territory, I think they get The Talk at some point and are targeted or groomed for the club. Petraeus, mcraven, etc. Assboys really floated to the top after 2008 (Hayden ugh). Chow thief Vindman is an example too (looking like Mattis and Kelly were too, disappointing). Plenty of tools wanting forever wars as well end up with positional power. Putting career over people. Way too many staff officers (PNT has no other reason for existing lol).

because that's when you start to need congress to approve your next rank. you also have political weight at that time
