That's true of many viruses. E.g. polio. ~94% had no symptoms at all with polio. ~5% got mild flu symptoms (corresponding to poliovirus getting into the bloodstream from the guts). 1% got life long paralysis (polio myelitis; corresponding to poliovirus getting into nervecells) and about 0.1% died.
COVID19 is about as deadly as polio was in a population with many immune. In a few years, vaccine or no vaccine, it will literally be a minor cold.
