During prohibition they had a rule that alcohol could be “grandfathered” in if bought before the rule took effect, so anyone with money bought up as much alcohol as possible before it happened.

If alcohol is so dangerous, then why did they continue to allow people a “grace period” where they could still purchase such a substance? Hmmmm....
