Isaiah 53:12
Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
if we look at Luke 22:38 it clearly says the disciples find "2" swords and Jesus says "that is enough"
We have to ask why only two swords are enough. In the second temple period, first century it was illegal for Jewish people to possess weapons in the Roman empire. Jesus and his disciples possessing just 2 swords made them rebels, transgressors.
If Jesus truly meant for them to sell their things and buy weapons then why didn't they all own swords and protect Jesus. In fact we see in all the Gospels when they tried to protect Jesus with the sword he told them to stop.
but what specific prophecy was the buying of swords supposed to fulfill, chapter and verse?
