He shot 3 felons in 1 minute. Two of which raped kids.

I think in fact, Kyle did something right.

I encourage people to be more like Kyle (in Minecraft).

Let them know that. We don't want them to think we're cancelling because he was wearing their shirt.

Let’s not get all cancel happy on these guys just yet. I think they pussed out a bit with that statement but I think they are overall helpful in our cause.

You stand up for what's right, especially when the going gets tough. People and companies don't get second chances with me right now.

I already contacted them over chat and only got a PR response. They know why I'm cancelling.

4
ANCsemi 4 points ago +9 / -5

Did you read the PR response?

They're on the defensive from the leftist mob right now. Unless you explicitly told them otherwise, they likely think you're cancelling because of Kyle.

25
modded 25 points ago +25 / -0

2 things. 1.) "They know why I'm cancelling." means I told them specifically why I'm cancelling. 2.) They cannot possibly think that leftists buy their coffee.

I dunno, I've seen a lot of Antifa with ARs.

We may be the most competent, but we certainly aren't the only ones buying black rifles.

Cudos to you for only thinking for yourself. It is one thing to think for yourself, and another to try to think for others by trying to push your view on others. "I don't like these guys so noone should buy their product." Cancel culture is just people who forgot to allow others to think for themselves. Right or left, all just need to fuck off.

Canceled them a few months ago. Over priced coffee. Over roasted burnt beans, yeeted

15
Jedibelle01 15 points ago +16 / -1

Yeah, I didn’t care for their coffee at all. I purchase Lavazza and Illy from Italy. Freaking phenomenal coffee and the beans are never burnt. It’s got a gorgeous, full bodied flavor and life is too short to drink shitty coffee

8
Joaniev9 8 points ago +9 / -1

That's hilarious I switched to Lavazza dark roast. Never looked back.

7
Jedibelle01 7 points ago +7 / -0

Too funny! Great minds and all that...

3
RedTX 3 points ago +3 / -0

That is my espresso bean of choice! Just trying to power through some Maromas Orphea right now, then it's back to Lavazza for me! Nice thing is that our local grocery stores here in TX (H-E-B) carry it and put it on sale regularly!

My experience with BRCC has been with the coffee my son has ordered from them. I mean, it is OK to me...but I really like the espresso setup I have now.

3
FTR12 3 points ago +3 / -0

Are you grinding your own beans? Espresso is largely the grind and extraction via pressure. I know there are a number of local roasteries in Texas if you grind your own. Lavazza is good but there may be more flavorful options available around you that you may not have been aware of.

2
RedTX 2 points ago +2 / -0

Ceado grinder, yes. I try different coffee beans all the time, but these guys are my "go to" bean. Plus, it's easy to dial in a grind with their stuff. The local stuff, or the smaller bags I get end up going through several settings before settling in on a proper ratio of coffee/extracted espresso.

If anything, this stay-at-home more thing has been good for my barista practice.

1
FTR12 1 point ago +1 / -0

What grind do you find best for espresso? is it all coffees or does one grind work best for you? Are you looking for origin flavor extracts or do you look for roast flavor? one thing to note with fresh roasted coffee is most people feel a 96 hour rest is necessary for freshly roasted coffee is necessary for espresso extraction with a fresh roast.

FTR12 8 points ago +9 / -1

If you need info on places to get good beans let me know and I will try to connect you with someone. If you're serious about roasting your own start with the popcorn popper method to learn. Sweet Marias is a great place to order small lots of green coffee and Roasting supplies until you start to get more advanced. Idk about their politics and know theyre in the bay area, but I have yet to see them make a statement in either direction.

4
Linkbylink 4 points ago +4 / -0

Happy Mug is pretty good, too. They're cheaper than Sweet Maria's but the beans are still good. Sweet Maria's has them beat by a mile in information. Every coffee I buy from SM has a detailed description about origin, cupping notes, preferred brewing method, etc. Happy Mug just has basic info but they're usually $1-2 cheaper per pound.

2
FTR12 2 points ago +2 / -0

Forgot to mention that Sweet Marias has a wholesale site called Coffee Shrub if you are buying 50 pounds or more.

1
FTR12 1 point ago +1 / -0

Thanks for that information! I have never heard of Happy Mug, but I also source beans through Copan Trade or Burman Coffee if not going the direct trade route. We are a roast to order coffee company with a strong focus on single origin coffees. We are always willing to connect with new suppliers to get the best coffee possible for our customers.

1
SmoothCyberCriminal 1 point ago +1 / -0

I would very much like your input on different coffee brands to try.

2
FTR12 2 points ago +2 / -0

Hey there Pede. Are you asking about established brands/coffee roasters to try? I will be the first to tell you that I'll be biased and tell you to check out hartmanroasting.co as that is my roast to order coffee company.

It really depends on what you like and are looking for in coffee. Are you looking for chocolatey roast flavors or do you want a single origin coffee that also presents origin notes? If you go for a single origin coffee, shoot for a medium or city/city+ roast to get the natural flavor from the bean; personally my wife and I like an Ethiopian Sidamo, Colombian Castillo, Pink Bourbon, or Maui Mokka for the origin flavor while my parents called me and asked us to bring our Guatemala Huehuetenango and Tanzania Peaberry when we come to their place for Christmas. We also have our decaf (our only blend a 50/50 split roast).

Depending on your taste you may want to speak to a local roaster around you, but understand the darker you go in the roast the less caffeine you get. However, most people have become accustomed to those chocolatey roast flavors. Also, it depends on if you are getting blended coffee or coffee from one growing region with a single varietal. If you want my opinion on brands you can find in stores I would recommend Peets coffee specifically their Major Dickinson blend or Seattle's Best dark roast. Alternatively there is Irving Farm which is in NY state and makes a pretty decent coffee and a buddy of mine said Grounded Roasterie in Texas is pretty good as they make a coffee for his restaurants. At the end of the day I would suggest either check out my site since it is roast to order and we roast our varietals how you want or check out a local roaster in your area to support small businesses near you and your local economy.

1
Jtenten 1 point ago +1 / -0

Absolutely! Been using Bodhi Leaf for beans and Sweet Maria’s popcorn popper for about a year. In the middle of a project to build my own home roaster from converting that and hopefully get it manufactured.

Always looking for good bean connects though if you got the hookup

2
FTR12 2 points ago +2 / -0

Burman Coffee or Copan Trade are great! I wouldn't say I have the hookup so much as they are some suppliers I use. Will be reaching out to a buddy whose family has coffee plantations in Colombia to see if I could put his info here as he has great access to single origin Colombian coffee. If you order more than 50 pounds at a time check out Coffee Shrub which is Sweet Marias wholesale site.

20
AngryCanary 20 points ago +20 / -0

Most supported them because of their stated values and the fact they helped support many conservative commentators such as Barely Offensive, Roaming Millennial, Steven Crowder, etc. The fact that they pulled their sponsorship of Barely Offensive for showing the photo is going to damage their brand in both respects.

This is what I sent them at the [email protected] address, harsh perhaps, but I'm pissed off these days.

"I just wanted to let you know this is about the dumbest decision I have ever seen a company make.

I know you don't want to come out and pick sides in a legal case, and that is what you should have done, kept your mouth shut.

Do you realize you are going to lose perhaps thousands of monthly subscriptions and individual sales over this?  right now at Christmas too?  How dumb are you guys?

You are going to gain ZERO new sales from this as well. Who is going to read this in the news and say "boy I need to get some of this coffee now, they don't support gun rights and police supporters!". Sure you might get a few green hair communists to tweet their support for you, but they don't have enough money to buy your over priced swill anyway, so too bad for you.

Your company just took a step into fucking clown world and frankly I hope it bankrupts you.

Your company just became a joke in the pro gun rights community."

Why do I keep seeing this argument? It literally has nothing to do with who they pulled ads from. It has everything to do with why. I would feel the same if they pulled ads from CNN or OANN.

Also, they didn't specify that they pulled ads form Blaze because Blaze is shit, so this argument falls flat on this alone. In fact, they decided to sponsor Blaze in the first place, knowing full and we'll who they were.

15
Mamapedia 15 points ago +15 / -0

I think the tone of the ceo's message was the problem. They could have included a statement wishing "the 17 year old" (huh?) a fair trial and supporting his right to a vigorous defense. The statement read as merely a CYA piece. If they want to profit on their pro law and order image, they should quit sounding like corporate hacks.

A Statement from CEO Evan Hafer on Black Rifle Coffee Company’s Mission

As a veteran-owned and operated coffee company, Black Rifle Coffee Company exists to serve premium coffee while supporting the veteran Community. At the core of Black Rifle Coffee’s values is to support and bring awareness to the millions of veterans who have proudly served our nation and we will not waver from that mission.

The Black Rifle brand is a symbol of service, of strength, and of goodness that has carried over from our military origins. It’s why we support active duty service members and veterans, prioritize veteran hiring, and advocate for individual liberty and personal responsibility.

We do not support legal advocacy efforts. We do not sponsor nor do we have a relationship with the 17-year-old facing charges in Kenosha, WI.

We believe in the integrity of the legal justice system, and support law enforcement officials.

We’re grateful for the continued support of the Black Rifle Coffee community and eager to continue serving those who serve.

-Evan Hafer, CEO/Founder

2
Aluminoti 2 points ago +2 / -0

They should clarify their statement. They don't have to support any legal advocacy but how about supporting the accused's Constitutional rights to a fair trial that is free from political bias and his rights to being judged by jury of his peers and to be considered innocent until proven guilty? Maybe a little something about not trying the kid in the court of public opinion.

We do not support legal advocacy efforts. We do not sponsor nor do we have a relationship with the 17-year-old facing charges in Kenosha, WI.

We believe in the integrity of the legal justice system, and support law enforcement officials.
