Ok, I have no problem with optional flair/tags added by the user, as long as it's optional and not put on by a moderator or fact-checker.. In fact I'd like a lot more tags options for searchability.
Blatantly fake info rarely bubbles up to the top -- you probably see it if it's on new (quickly weeded out or low visibility)
And if it's optional tags, then malicious people won't be adding it anyway. So that doesn't solve the problem of malicious bad info.
What I would agree with is optional tags that allow anybody to tag it with what they want. I disagree with anything remotely resembling a fact-checker or moderator fact-checking.

According to this proposal, the original poster would have complete control over the flair. So, it's not a hostile, fake fact check like Snopes.
