I'm one of those long lanky types with a pretty long reach. So for me the Safariland drop leg double retention is perfect. It would be extremely difficult to come up and grab the pistol out of my holster and steal from me because its designed to prevent that.
Man, lots folks think smaller is mandatory for AIWB and i think they're limiting their options unnecessarily. A longer slide can help prevent the gun from pointing inward when you sit down, and help maintain a vertical position. Depends on the holster you get, need one with adjustment mechanisms for the loops/hooks, whereas most holster companies now just offer flashy colors. I've IWBed a fullsize 1911 no problem, even tho everyone says that's impossible. Meanwhile they're all carrying hellcats that are too small to fire accurately.
I couldn't agree more. Even just standing around in all day at the range / desert with my gear on made me see what feels right and what doesn't. When you just put it on to larp at home you tend to take it off as soon as you had your fun and made sure everything fits ok. But the problem is you don't wear it long enough like you would if god forbid you ever actually needed that stuff.
Train with your gear, people! Also your medical gear. Don't need to open up your hemostatic quik-clot or anything just try out your CAT turnaquet at least. I like to keep my med pouch on me too with my gear. It's just a basic trauma kit.
I'm 1000x faster out of my drop holster than when I wear a sidearm on my hip. We wore belt holsters for years before transitioning to thigh rigs. I would never go back. Only thing is you have to slide the drop holster to the top of your leg to drive comfortably.
Too many people neglect the med kit and I'd like to mention celox or some other clotting agent. Celox with a compression bandage will save your life. For those hard to bandage areas (groin/armpit) Z-Gauze with embedded clotting agent is good.

Your plate carrier looks super low on your body. Propper placement is in line with the top of your sternum on the front and in line with C7 vertebrate on the back.
Also some excellent comments regarding need for TQ's and IFAK's. Please get a Safariland ALS holster, not the chest mount thing.

Mine doesnt move at all on my leg, the elastic/grippy thigh straps everyone sells work really well for me.

First line does include rifle, and rifle mags that are also on your belt (should be at least 2)
