“Black Rifle Coffee Company does not sponsor legal advocacy efforts and does not have a relationship with Kyle Rittenhouse,” a company spokesperson told Mediaite via email on Saturday evening."

BRCC denied pulling any adds on Twitter this morning as well.

Can we all stop overreacting and acting like Leftists (i.e. acting irrationally without all the facts).

If it ends up turning out they did actively denounce Kyle or pull ads then I'll join you in leaving them forever. But as of now they've done nothing wrong.

They did not back Kyle = FUCK THEM. Get it?

No see this is where you’re being a giant vagina. In this day and age BRC should have either said 1) nothing, or 2) said “fuck you were sending him free coffee.” Were in a Cold War with the left and if these guys are too stupid to realize that then that alone is enough to alienate everyone here.

So by your standard, any company that doesn't proactively support MAGA is gone? Enjoy your Fred Flintstone car and Goya beans. That's about all you get.

Personally, I don't need companies to support my politics. For me, it's good enough that they a) make good products and b) don't actively call me racist, sexist, etc.

Having this type of attitude toward a pretty overall conservative company (certainly better than most) is destructive, stupid, and not well thought out.

However, had they actually come out and said Kyle was a criminal or something like that I'd be right there with you.

I've cancelled Dollar Shave Club, my cable TV, and my Netflix. I put my money where my mouth is. I just don't see they did anything wrong here.

As a PR professional, my agency would’ve advised BRCC to keep its fucking mouth shut. This was a big amateur mistake and they will pay dearly for it.

I'm sure the advice was given while the CEO was banging one of the hot PR ladies who had no actual real-life PR experience. Understandable course of action but ironically screwed Evan Hafer in the end lol

They told him to stop dragging them into a national controversy.

I agree with you it wasn't the greatest PR move on their part given their customer base but let's not pretend they said "FUCK KYLE" when really what they said was "HEY WE HAVE NO OFFICIAL RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM."

Had they condemned him or belittled Kyle in any way I'd be ready to boycott and burn it all down but I don't see that they did anything wrong here.

Some people think that even trying to remain neutral at this point in time is oppositional. I understand, but don't think that has to apply to a coffee company.

Agreed totally on their shit-for-brains PR move. Just don't think it's the same as Gillette calling us all sexist or Uber emailing us all to tell us we're racist.

Yea I know they didn't trumpet support off the rooftops, cool i get that. The instantaneous qualifying and backpedaling.....why do we need more people not standing up. Spines don't grow on trees, sometimes you need a kick in the ass, they need a kick in the ass.

2
isitpedanticenough [S] 2 points ago +4 / -2

Yes, agreed on that point completely. I just don't see them needing a boycott because they weren't sufficiently steel-spined. They didn't denounce the kid they basically just said, " Please leave us out of this one."

Here is the issue, when you start your argument with "just shut the fuck up" know that a) you're arguing like a leftist and b) i haven't read a single word you wrote after that because I don't care what you have to say now.

A disagreement between pedes shouldn't require that at the start. Don't fire unless fired upon.

Fair enough, I apologize if I misunderstood but it read that way and sadly, there is a lot of friendly fire coming my way for opposing the group think. It certainly could have been phrased more clearly.

I think they should have just not said anything at all. I would have preferred that. But acting as though their statement that they have no official sponsorship of Kyle is akin to a denouncement is a bridge too far.

This does not deserve ruining a business that is law enforcement and military friendly.

Apology accepted.

You're not wrong either. They screwed the pooch. I just don't think it's unforgivable.

theRealPizzabandit 2 points ago +2 / -0

Are you sure they were trying to get in front of a story? Or maybe they were just responding to an angry mob and some reporters who were asking some stupid questions.

I completely agree with you there, but I also agree with the opie that what I've seen from the MAGA crowd today just seems an awful like what the left does to people and it's not a good thing. If they don't respond to the MAGA mob then I guess that's a bonus for them?

If Kyle loses, the 2nd amendment means you can own guns but cannot use them to defend yourself as you are hunted in the street. If BRCC doesn't understand this then they don't understand America and are waving guns at you to make you go to sleep.

"A spokesperson for the coffee company told The Salt Lake Tribune on Saturday afternoon that the company was terminating its sponsorship of Slightly Offens*ve, but late Saturday, she said she had misunderstood.

We are not fluctuating our ad spend,” she said in a text message. “We did have a conversation with Schaffer, and he understands that the post was a mistake.”

I can see a brand being upset that they are thrust into a national controversy by someone they sponsor, regardless of how they feel personally.

I thought we were against cancel culture?

2
isitpedanticenough [S] 2 points ago +3 / -1

I think, in general, we on the conservative side need to be more aggressive when people slight us. We need to do exactly what the libtards do. Fight fire with fire. That's how you win.

However, in this particular case I don't think what I did justifies this response for this company. And a lot of people disagree here lol

2
V2020 2 points ago +3 / -1

THEY are guilty of cancel culture. That’s what we are unhappy about. A company that is taking money from conservatives acting as if they support conservatives and then shill out for leftists and cancel conservative support.

2
Rs5150 2 points ago +3 / -1

They aren’t going to donate or financially support a legal effort for Kyle. Big fucking deal. Neither are a lot of other good companies or people.

You are a slimy, lazy piece of shit.

Disagree with me all you want, but don't call me a shill. I've been here since the early days of T_D.

Attack me with substance, not lazy name-calling or you'll get the same in kind.
