I look at it like California. They shit everything up, move, and vote for the same policies that shit everything up before.
So here we are, in a party that for all intents are good, but is caked in human shit. Do we go somewhere else without ever examining the REASON for the shit? Or do we do the hard work of cleaning out all the shit, and in the process learn our lesson and teach people that if someone wants to come in, and he's covered in shit, the answer is NO, get the FUCK OUT, go to the Shit Cake Party if you're Caked in Shit?
The work for that will have to start now to be viable in 2022. I think it could have some real staying power if some current elected Trump republicans up in 2022 run under the new party. Someone like Matt Gaetz can win his seat no matter what party he runs as.
