And of course, a bare minimum of outrage. Everyone sleepwalking into the abyss wearing their face amulets, instead of RISING UP and RAISING HELL.

I’m so embarrassed of my country, my skin crawls.

Because of covid-19. They aren’t essential.

The items are under the plastic.... they are controlling what people can buy... Power.....control.....like a dictatorship.. Government said no you can’t have that.

Everything is there, fully stocked. But the provincial government of Manitoba (province directly above North Dakota) has decreed that “non essential” items may not be sold to customers- and there is no end date to this.

Need a Christmas gift? Sorry, too bad. Christmas is already off the table anyways- households are forbidden to have even ONE visitor.

It’s insanity.

And yet, here we are.

And people are just grinning and shrugging, and “we’re all in it together”.

It’s fucking incredible.

The thing is, they’ll never fight back. Canadians never do. It makes me so angry.

We like to think we’re so smug up here, and “better” than others, hiding under this ludicrous facade of politeness. It’s not politeness, it’s impotence. Everyone is in a pleasant stupor not to rock the boat. We’re a nation of Stepford Wives.
