I know you're joking, but I have honest to god given this serious thought. Maybe getting some sort of camper and wandering state to state. Not sure how I'd make money though.

I don't know how old you are, so it might not be relevant, but I can say this: my daughter went and joined the air force when she was 20...

And it was the best thing she ever did. I joined the army when I was 18, and it was a move that shaped the rest of my life. It is a great experience. My daughter is now out, got her degree, and has a great job with a spectacular future. If you join a branch of the service, you do get out on your own, but with a great support network. Medical benefits, 30 days vacation, living on base for free, and it's very convenient. Pick a branch you'd like, and pick a job you'd be interested in. It's at least worth a serious look.
