It’s cheaper than you might think to get out there and live on your own, you just have to set your expectations very low at first, as long as you are a functional person you won’t have to live in abject poverty long before you can find a better place.

Any good budgeting guides? Nailing down the rent and expenses is the tricky part for me. I'd imagine rural areas are cheaper homewise but does the trade-off in other living expenses make a big difference. Internet service would be a bitch for sure.

When my parents kicked me out I lived in my car for a few months and got eaten alive by mosquitoes, then got a room in this bedbug infested shithole for about a year then moved into a mouse infested shithole one bedroom studio apartment where I could actually get laid. Once you’ve moved into a place that has mammal pests instead of insect pests you know you’re in the clear. Depending on your income and various drug addictions it may take a while or possibly a lifetime to get through the living in your car phase.

Spez: Almost forgot, when sleeping in your car, neck support is key, the airport neck pillow things are the shit.
