So, the Nazis, who were fascists, gained power because of the threats of communism. There would never have been Nazis if not for communism. The United States entered the war and helped the communists defeat the fascists. We then entered the cold war era which eventually led to the fall of the soviet union. If you look back at world war 2 from the perspective of someone living in the US at the height of the cold war I don't know how someone could plausibility claim that the US won the war as conflicts that had initiated during ww2 were still ongoing. I think what happened is the USSR eventually realized they could never militarily defeat the US so they shifted strategies and decided to infiltrate the western countries while giving up on the USSR itself. This eventually led to the overthrow of the US government by these communist types and led to our current nemesis known as the deep state.
