Jail is ineffective at reducing crime or even punishing crime. It makes the elite able to commit more crime while punishing people for being poor and creates a slave labor class. That’s it’s purpose.
Jail is ineffective because it is not jail anymore. Now it is a warm bed, three square meals, cable t.v. and exercise. When what it should be is forced hard labor until you serve your time or you die of exhaustion, and a cold floor to sleep on.

American jails are worse than most in the world and yet we have more people in jail and our crime is extremely high.
