Believe it or not, we adults can handle situations like this without crumbling. Don't attribute more power to them than they actually have.
The only reason the BRC stuff was big was because it was a slow weekend for news.
There's a lot of disinfo being posted right now that's clearly designed to sow mistrust and discord.
Mods are Gods and clean most of it up real quick, but as everyone starts waking up and going through the morning routine it's important to remember that we're on the same side here.
I'm not terribly invested in any of the three topics I mentioned in OP - I've just seen them come up a lot over the last day or so and offered them as examples of hot potatoes.
