That's a very good explanation!!! And often overlooked at how vital sewers are to health.... If they had them a long time ago the plague wouldn't have killed nearly as many people!!!

Well, it was the modern sewer system that helped London beat a cholera epidemic (though they weren't really treating their effluent so much as washing it downstream), along with hygienic water supply.

Not sure how that works to defeat the plague, though I am happy to be informed.

There plague came from rats with fleas.. (at least that's the accepted theory) ... Trash and old food and just basic trashy living conditions caused the rats... A good sewer/trash type system would have GREATLY cut down on deaths

Okay, with you on the cause of the plague (i.e. fleas). Now I think I understand you better - a good refuse management system would definitely have cut down on the opportunities for rats (and thus the fleas) and thus fewer plague deaths.

Right!!! Had they just been a little cleaner and cut down on the waste and trash there wouldn't have been near as many rats.... I've read stories of how fucking nasty they lived!! It was awful man!! Pouring their shit buckets into the streets, just brooming their trash out the door, never cleaned themselves because of no running water or adequate sewage .... It had to have been horribly nasty!!
