The reason the Nazis still stand out even though they didn't even kill the most people, is because they had their best engineers and brightest minds on the industrialization of mass-murder.
They were over there getting civilian genocide down to a science, with no need to make any pretenses about what they were doing.
They believed explicitly and intellectually in what they were doing, and they were putting people en masse through death factories like it was a normal thing to do.

I think his sentiments is that the Holocaust is overplayed in our society. There arent 100s of movies and books about Rwanda or the Armenian genocide or any other genocide. They are all horrible. They are all holocaust. But when you say holocaust you think Jews. There is a deeper idea here. One that gets lost I think when people focus on one instance. People can be evil toward any group given the right motivation. Jews arent special in this regard.
