Yad Vashem has documented at least 4 million Jews who were killed, with names, pictures, and other documents - and they're still collecting information. That includes my relatives. The Jewish community in Poland was completely decimated, and there were 3 million Jews living there before the war. Another more than 2 million were killed on the territory of what was then the Soviet Union, and they were killed right where they lived and buried, mostly by shooting, but other means were used too. All of it is documented. And there were, of course, Jews in other countries, such as Hungary.
I honestly couldn't say how many people died. Even if it was 300k it was still pretty brutal. Most probably died from overworking and starvation. the main reason they starved is because the allies blockaded any supplies comming in. Do I think they killed 6 million by gassing them. No, I'd imagine most died from terrible conditions. But the pecular thing is some jew from New York pretty much gave them the idea with his book "Germany must perish" then the nazis did exactly what was written in the book to the Jews. Diesel engine exhaust is barely harmful, even in high concentrations. Diesel fumes, while appearing dirtier than petrol, contains less Carbon Monoxide (presumably the lethal agent).
Use your noggin; why waste fuel (when there's a war on) when you can just hood, then hang the prisoners you want to execute?
If you fill a room completely with people, pump it full of diesel engine exhaust and wait a certain time, they will all die. It took about 20 minutes, a slow and horrible death. But I guess you hate Jews so much that you won't accept any reasoning.

You're introducing more uncertainty in your case: What's the "certain time"? How do you vent the room to get the bodies out? Once you vent the room, you have to start the engine up all over again.
