It's less important specifically who they let vote and infinitely more important why people were given a vote.

If you don't have a stake in maintaining and bettering the country, you shouldn't be allowed to vote. They gave the vote to landowners because owning land guaranteed you had a stake in the country.

If your life depends on the government to the point that you would support overreach and expansion of government beyond its purview, you don't get a vote. They gave the vote to white males because, generally speaking, their vote wasn't able to be bought by government officials.

If we limit suffrage, and we definitely should, it should be on universally applicable standards.

  • natural born citizens only. If you don't live and work in, or aren't subject to the jurisdiction of one of the 50 United States, you can't be expected to serve the nation's best interests and therefore cannot vote. If you weren't born here, the risk to our culture and principles being drowned out by foreign ideals is too great. Sorry, but if you love America, you'll understand the necessity.

  • no felons. If you refuse to abide by the law and order set up to protect society, why should you be allowed to shape said law and order? When and if you (specifically yourself) pay your debt to society, your right to vote may be restored. Imprisonment is meant to be reformative after all.

  • no one living on government assistance or employment. This should be obvious, your vote is directly for sale and therefore you shouldn't have a vote to sell.

18
Transgirl_4_Trump 18 points ago +20 / -2

This exactly. As long as people think "oh, I'll just vote to give myself free shit and who gives a fuck about the consequences to society", the democratic system is inherently unstable.

Any form of government only works if the people with power care more about the success of society than their own personal benefit. In a democracy, we give power to the people... but the need for selflessness hasn't gone away. Anyone who demonstrates that they care more about themselves than about their society should be a civilian, not a citizen.

11
glompywompy 11 points ago +13 / -2

Would love to go back to head of household gets to vote and no others.

Democrats would find a way around it though, they would "rent" their room from a parent for $0 and get the right to vote, only way around that is that if renters can't vote, and that disenfranchises the rich that live exclusively downtown in condos/apartments.

So really, the best system is that the land owner only gets the right to vote. Our founding fathers really did think this through.

2
visorak 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yeah, its difficult because of stuff like apartments. On the other hand, whats stopping a person from buying a square meter of land in the middle of nowhere?

Best criteria for voting I've seen so far is: One vote per family. To be a family you need to be married, own/rent a house, have at least one kid. Also you pay taxes/don't get welfare.

4
hitchhiker 4 points ago +4 / -0

Fuck that. I own land. I pay a LOT of taxes. I give back to my community. I will likely never be married or have kids. Why should I not have a vote?

0
glompywompy 0 points ago +1 / -1

Yep, if people can't be stable enough to be married they are not stable enough mentally to vote. Having a biological kid is also a nice requirement. I can't believe how m much I grew up after our little one was born and took on that responsibility head on.

Aoikaze2000 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yeah, there needs to be more emphasis put on statehood. At this point we need to give Puerto Rico a deadline, and possibly look at divesting ourselves of our islands that have a functioning government if they don't want to become states. Less leeches on the government, the better for everyone.

Natural born citizens should be extended to cover kids born overseas (ex: at least one parent parent is part of USAF stationed at Ramstein, Germany and has a kid, kid should be considered a natural born US citizen provided the kid moves back to the US with the parent if they get transferred back to the US).

Also, how do you define government employment... is it directly employed by the government, does that include contractors that work exclusively for the US government? What about contractors (like Boeing, for example) that fulfill orders for the government but also have a functioning (ok bad example) private sector business?

3
Hades440 3 points ago +3 / -0

I would say directly employed by the government. A contractor, even one that works exclusively for the government, could theoretically find other work. That being said, there's a lot of nepotism and corruption tied into government contract deals that needs to be worked out; perhaps that's a separate issue though.

Totally agree about overseas kids born to American parents. And then there's the question of Native Americans. Are they American citizens or not? They can vote and hold office but then claim sovereignty and have their own laws. Pick a lane.

1
Aoikaze2000 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yeah, the entire corruption thing is a huge ball of wax... and likely tied into why people are fighting so hard against Trump, so the best way forward on that front is to get Trump his second term, and let him start hammering stakes through the heart of that vampire.

IMO the best way forward with the Native Americans is to offer them a choice to either unite all the reservations into a single state (thus removing them from the existing state) or to have each reservation decide if it wants to fully merge into the existing state.

If they're going to be functionally their own state, then they need to officially be their own state... or they need to lose their special status. Either way, I consider all the Native Americans to be my American brothers and sisters, and I would prefer if they finally acknowledge that.

0
comooragh 0 points ago +1 / -1

Aoikaze2000 0 points ago +1 / -1

IMO having something as an eternal territory isn't good for the country because it's a huge tax sink. It needs to either join to GTFO.

3
HereComesTrouble 3 points ago +3 / -0

no one living on government assistance or employment. This should be obvious, your vote is directly for sale and therefore you shouldn't have a vote to sell.

We need a step further than this, thanks to earned income credits and the like. There are too many people who claim to pay taxes that get back every cent they pay in and then some--anyone in this category doesn't get the right to vote. The elderly can vote if they have paid into the system and are natural born citizens (none of this crap where people can migrate here and draw SS after never having paid into it).

2
CuomoisaMassMurderer 2 points ago +2 / -0

Pffft, bigot! And dead non-citizens have just as much rights as white kids, fat

7
Turtler 7 points ago +9 / -2

The Founders were happy to have non-whites who fit the criteria to vote. They were even happy to experiment with women’s suffrage, as New Jersey from 1797-1807 goes. What matters is not race or gender per se, but commitment. Be it from property rights or others.

2
CuomoisaMassMurderer 2 points ago +2 / -0

Women in NJ voted well before 1797. They voted in the very first election in the colony, and that was never questioned until ... I forget when that was changed but IIRC it was shortly before women's universal suffrage. It certainly wasn't a 10 year experiment.

I'm not sure this is a good example to gauge our founding Fathers by though.

1
comooragh 1 point ago +1 / -0

That wouldn't fix things at all, simply because the modern equivalent is mark zuckerberg. In order for the republic to be 'by the people' you need to establish real voting qualifications beyond 'be living and breathing'. Service to society guarantees citizenship and all that.

I think he has got us covered for that reason alone. There's obvious signs of God's hand on President Trump and Mike Pence (Joseph and Daniel were both elevated to second position over the kingdoms and that alone was enough for those Godless nations to prosper). And we now have plenty of proof that people of this country support the America that was more than they support the sodom and gomorrah that it's turning into.

God has not yet decided to burn it all down, but we still need to tear down the idols.

1
Rufus_Shinra 1 point ago +1 / -0

No one really know what Gods plan is, perhaps he wanted Trump to win and then have the election stolen to wake enough people up so they rise and eradicate the corruption infecting our government. In the Old Testament, God punished people and even the Jews, who were his chosen, in horrible ways. The Jews were enslaved by Egypt for hundreds of years, by Babylon, conquered by the Romans, etc...

My point it, it may work out in the long term but it's never easy and involves a lot of hardship, which is needed for people to grow, before the job is done.

Did you know in the time the founders were still alive, most states had Established churches? Like how the Church of England is the state church of England, Massachusetts had the Puritan church.

Then they got rid of it by 1860 to appease secularism, then secularism decided it wanted to strangle religion entirely. It's almost like ceding ground to an insane, entitled ideological minority always leads to trouble.

Women are trash even in rat form, which doesn't surprise me. Amazing that nobody ever takes this study as a confirmation that their hatred of us is actually an innate behavior.

  • Highest in-group bias

  • Lowest empathy

  • Showed clear preference in causing lethal harm to the out-group over unknowns or in-group.

All of this is confirmed scientifically, but I guarantee someone will remark about how I can't get a woman or some BS.

1
HereComesTrouble 1 point ago +1 / -0

Well, as a woman, I should defend my gender, but I tend to agree with you. Growing up, I was the outcast in school because I never got along with other girls. College? Couldn't get along with roommates at all and threatened burying more than one for their petty bullshit. Women are typically petty, backstabbing, conniving pieces of shit who "henpeck" everyone who doesn't bow down to or conform to the feminine ideal (which has now become an androgynous man-hating psychopath, IMO) , which is why I don't get along with them. But I got along with guys fine. Always have. But my mother has never been the typical "female" either, and my dad was strong and expected the same from all of us without being assholes about it, so maybe that's where it comes from.

All I know is that I am the exception rather than the norm. I don't envy men having to deal with this shit. I mean, men aren't perfect either, but they are relatively simple and direct in how they deal with things (no offense) unless they're feminized, preening soyboys, in which case they're just women with shriveled up dicks.

Edited to add: The biggest problem is that, somewhere along the way, society stopped expecting people to be strong and intelligent and, instead, decided to break down those who are so everyone is operating at the lowest common denominator. Those who don't are not labeled bigots, sexists, racists, whatever... so yeah, I won't be accusing you of not being able to get a woman. The majority of women suck--and not in a good way.

The Founders were keenly aware that power corrupts and that government authority is inherently self-serving. If anything they would be saying “we TOLD you faggots this would happen!” The entire purpose of the Constitution was to erect legal barriers that would inhibit the ability of centralized government power to fuck over American citizens because the Founders knew exactly what would happen otherwise.

The long-term goal of the left is to chip away at those Constitutional barriers, bit by bit, until they become ineffective.

8
Publius_Syrus 8 points ago +8 / -0

Perhaps the most fundamental change that led to the Federal Government usurping unconstitutional power was the 17th Amendment that made Senators popularly elected by their states. Before 1913, Senators were appointed by the State governments. "Ambition must be made to counteract ambition."

Rather, people are inherently self-serving, being in government just affords them a greater opportunity to take advantage of others. As you said, power corrupts.

8
chinesevirus 8 points ago +9 / -1

Most people, especially Leftists, don't understand how truly revolutionary the founders were and how the government they established was nearly unprecedented. They kicked out arguably the most powerful and global empire the world had ever seen and instead of propping up themselves and their buddies with power they actually created a government system with barriers to prevent that from happening - both limited themselves and their descendants.

It's pretty wild to think about: they crafted the system and the documents in such a way to prevent even themselves from exerting control over your life.

Rome today will be Corpus Cristi.

If they try to put Biden in, Trump needs to report to duty at the airbase in Corpus Cristi, and get on the phone with Alberta, Mexico and Japan to make it very clear he is still The President.

The Mississippi River is the main artery of our nation, and it will be protected by the twin arms of Texas and Florida. The mountain passes in the Sierra Nevada, Cascades and Allegheny will all become check points and travel inwards will be restricted. If there is resistance from Milwaukee, Chicago or MN then counties in Upper Michigan will close off access to the St Lawrence and wait.

Almost every single liberal city is on the brink of becoming Detroit.

We don't even need to fire a shot. If Trump does exactly what I describe, in three months they will all surrender.

I think of this every time some pede cautions against war.

Folks, we have nothing to fear from war. We are already at war and have been for over a generation. How many people in this generation grew up without a father in their home? In human history, fatherless homes have only happened in the aftermath of war - when men were killed off and no longer able to raise their children.

A girl walking around with neon hair is a casualty of war. Her life has been ruined, intentionally, by an evil enemy. We are at war for decades, and we've been losing because we've allowed the war to be fought on their terms.

Propaganda networks and corrupt bureaucracy are their only strengths. These are the only battlegrounds where they can beat us, and yet we only fight them on those battlegrounds.

An entire generation is the walking dead. A man in his late 20s who jacks off and plays video games all day is a casualty of war. A woman turning 32 who has two abortions and hates men is a casualty of war.

We are already at war, it's just that we've only fought them on their terms.

6
Rufus_Shinra 6 points ago +6 / -0

This is very true. I watch a lot of old TV shows from the 50s and 60s, like Perry Mason, The Rifleman, etc. It's staggering what we have lost in such a short time. The culture back then still values the family and the cities were largely clean and a he'll of a lot more safe than today. Cops actually did their jobs, the average person knew right from wrong and parents raised their children to value hard work, not handouts. When you look at our beautiful cities back then, and what they have become today, it is horrifying that we've let this happen because of corrupt leftist overlords.

I now know how an empire as large and powerful as Rome could fail and fall apart completely.

1
frogwithbreasts 1 point ago +2 / -1

Okay, I can buy the 29-year-old deadbeat and woman who's had two abortions as casualties, but how the hell is a girl dying her hair a casualty of war? That's... literally self-expression. A lot of people try a lot of things as they explore who they are. I dyed my hair jet black in high school. Didn't magically make me a communist. Didn't ruin my life.

Let's try to avoid catastrophizing over teenagers and young adults exploring their identities. It makes us a lot less palatable to people who may otherwise share our love of American liberty.

4
Sticky_Feathers 4 points ago +6 / -2

Casualty is wounded and also dead. The dyed unnatural colors is definitely a plead for attention that should have come from loving family not any kind of peer group.

3
NealKenneth 3 points ago +4 / -1

Dying your hair black (a natural color) in high school (adolescence) is very different from a grown adult going neon.

1
frogwithbreasts 1 point ago +2 / -1

I see your reasoning, but I guess I'm just not buying into this whole fear over unnatural hair colors. I thought this was just a meme that lefties made up about Trump supporters because honestly it seems like a really trivial thing to make a fuss about. We're talking about an individual's liberty to wear their hair the way they want, is this REALLY in the top 20 conservative concerns about society?

Also (and this is slightly beside the point, but you brought it up above), it's not a family's duty to provide ALL of the attention their child needs. Healthy people need friends and peer groups outside of their family circle. How else do you expect people to date? Families should be encouraging socialization, not trying to stifle it.

3
NealKenneth 3 points ago +3 / -0

Okay, I think this where the confusion is coming from.

We're talking about an individual's liberty to wear their hair the way they want

No one is saying there should be restrictions on how people do their hair. That's not at all what I'm saying, and I don't know anyone who would say that.

What I'm saying though is that neon hair colors is usually a symptom of deeper issues.

Hair color is not even in the top 10,000 conservative issues. But the root causes that often lead to girls ruining their hair - fatherless homes, feminist propaganda, a soulless pump and dump dating culture etc...those ARE serious concerns.

0
frogwithbreasts 0 points ago +1 / -1

I appreciate your clarification, and your reasoning makes more sense to me now.

I think we still may disagree on neon hair being symptomatic of "deeper issues," but that is certainly related to my personal bias... Two matriarchs in my family waited until they were in their 60s and 70s respectively to experiment with oddly hued hair. They're both Trump voters, gun owners, from conservative households with intact marriages, and been happily married to men their whole lives—they just have an artistic streak and they're not afraid to show it. Maybe they're the exceptions that prove the rule, but these are two women I would NOT want to denigrate for their hair color choices lol.

Anyway, hope you have a good one, pede.

Matt Gaetz made this point on the floor of the House weeks ago; they killed Muammar Gaddafi in Lybia with an approval rate of like 13% because of CIA propaganda and infiltration of their grassroots revolution.

1
tufftoffee 1 point ago +5 / -4

I disagree. You can be rich and still be a good person. We just let bad people who are smooth talkers and cast pretty personas take reign. It's our fault we didn't vet people or take positions ourselves when we had the chance. Blaming money is a scapegoat.

6
DogFacedPepeSoldier 6 points ago +8 / -2

Of course you can be rich and be a good person. I'm talking about getting soft.

A self made rich person will take risks like our founders did, and like Trumphas done. But a rich society is stocked with people who are comfortable enough to not be willing to risk what they have.

Spez: this is really just a rewording of the "good times make soft men; soft men make hard times" meme

How long do you think they'll let us keep our guns if they are successful in stealing this election?

Even if they lose; what the fuck do you think those who were involved are gonna do; become honest, decent citizens and people?

It won't turn out well for anyone, least of all my own family if the boogaloo starts. (I have kids who need life saving meds that I can't stock up on and would disappear in a boog.)

But at the same time, I also must recognize that a threat not backed up by action is not a threat at all.

CuomoisaMassMurderer -2 points ago +2 / -4

You seem to misunderstand the boating accident trope. Your final statement is of course on point.

0
Trashaccount121 0 points ago +2 / -2

I think his point is that everyone flexes about all the cool guns they have and says the "hurr hurr boating accident" thing because they wanna pretend they're cold dead hands level committed, but many conservatives would probably just film a video of the mean cops showing up and taking their guns if a leftist gungrab policy were ever legislated.

At the risk of being labelled glow, it's like that Beto meme from back when he was in the running - "okay, basically, my plan is Waco but everywhere". Are hundreds, perhaps thousands, of conservatives willing to go down shooting until the damage done causes gungrabbing to be recognized as a juice not worth the squeeze?

1
Paul_Revere 1 point ago +2 / -1

Are hundreds, perhaps thousands, of conservatives willing to go down shooting until the damage done causes gungrabbing to be recognized as a juice not worth the squeeze?

I think it would all depend upon the leadership and organization. At the moment, we have neither, and lamenting this fact gets you smeared as a "glowie."

-1
CuomoisaMassMurderer -1 points ago +1 / -2

Nope, no organization necessary. We are rugged individualists, who know right from wrong. No organization will occur that isn't in place already. Brace for this reality (and override that in your neighborhood if you can, safely)

-1
CuomoisaMassMurderer -1 points ago +1 / -2

Are hundreds, perhaps thousands, of conservatives willing to go down shooting until the damage done causes gungrabbing to be recognized as a juice not worth the squeeze?

If you're trying to demoralize the troops you are by definition the enemy.

Waiting til it gets to the point you point to is foolhardy. And that Rubicon is crossed on 12/14 if our Courts fail to straighten out the election fraud. Electors vote that day and the Courts can't override that.

Election Optics that were ultimately meaningless because the election was always meant to be rigged and stolen from us. We’re honestly a disgrace to the Founding Fathers legacy right now. If we don’t rise up 1776 style we deserve to live as Communist slaves. Smh.

Edit: Downvotes from cowards who fear the truth

3
Rufus_Shinra 3 points ago +3 / -0

It's true. Decades of living a lifestyle of plenty has made people soft. Also, there's a such thing as becoming too civilized, because when you do it only allows evil people to rule you. But also, there aren't any groups or real leadership on the ground to unify patriots and organize them. There needs to be a leader willing to sacrifice everything, just like the founders did, for the sake of freedom.

1
CuomoisaMassMurderer 1 point ago +3 / -2

When only one side fights it's called a massacre. Our side hasn't fought yet. Don't conflate rioters destroying their own neighborhoods with our Courts turning a deaf ear to mountains of evidence of election fraud, hell bent on destroying the Nation.

Courts can't interfere with the vote of electors. Of course this says nothing about all the other elections, other than for POTUS.

Seriously though, some of us should start thinking about that very seriously and not just posting a Sunday Gunday but start thinking about what needs to be done with it, how and where and the risks involved.

2
CuomoisaMassMurderer 2 points ago +2 / -0

People are thinking about this very seriously. Many think there will be someone to follow, or some Official will give a signal. The only reason to think like that is not being familiar with the Fabian society. We need to know when our Courts can't do anything more to straighten out the election fraud, and watch that closely.

2
Rufus_Shinra 2 points ago +2 / -0

It's actually quite simple, it just been done, but a few dozen coordinated patriots could turn a city government upside down. Police are not going to be willing to engage in consistent firefights with citizens armed with AR 15s, but the FEDs will. A civil war today would not look like a war, more like an insurgency, which is how it would ha be to be fought given today's tech. The enemies are obvious, media, corrupt den mayors, Soros DAs, corrupt govoners, etc. All hypothetical of course, purely academic.

1
Juicebusters 1 point ago +1 / -0

The enemies are obvious, media,

The strange thing to me is the media people have not even the concept of fearing MAGA and Patriots who actually kowtow to them, appease them, 'turn the other cheek' and even in here worry about 'Optics' which is the media appeasement part.

So they are obviously in full cooperation with the Democrats, they were actually playing part in it, yet, they don't have a thing to do but sneer and double-down because they don't even have the threat of losing anything.

Not sure, if it was me I'd have made sure they would at least have some thought in their mind they could get wrecked and lose things. Just so they know that could happen. They don't.

0
CuomoisaMassMurderer 0 points ago +2 / -2

We won't be fighting against missiles or aircraft or tanks. We'll only get one night to settle this if our Courts fail to, because our military will deploy in the morning to quell everything. Courts have a deadline of 12/14 when the electors vote. Once that happens, Courts can't override that. Ww can't let that go the wrong way.
