I disagree with this Gateway Pundit assessment. McCarthy is an important Trump ally. Yes, he appears to accept the election by not mentioning the presidential race, but he also calls for “every legal vote” being counted and endorses all the ongoing legal challenges.
What bugged me more than anything was how he never gave Trump credit for the good showing in down-ticket races. He talks about the Republican agenda but did not explain how so much of that agenda has been defined and championed by President Donald Trump.
Second, he is falling into the liberal “identity politics” trap of touting how many GOP women, minorities and veterans won. I understand how this is a useful PR move for the party, but he should say “excellent candidates” without making their gender or skin color their main attribute.
That said, we need this man to fight to MAGA, going forward. I still count him as an important piece of the success puzzle in the years ahead.
