Not trying to be a dick but, Why does it seem that few take their oath seriously? Is it Job security? Do many just see it as a job and nothing more? Any insight would be appreciated.

Did they become pieces of shit because they became cops or were they pieces of shit who became cops? (I know, it's a silly question, and there are all kinds of people, but having spent quite some time around law enforcement in this country and others, including MP, I came to a conclusion that "good cops" are unicorns. And I hang out with a couple of our local guys on a regular basis too, or rather, used to until this whole covid bullshit.)

Honestly a lot depends on the veteran officers in the squad before the zero tolerance horseshit (Marxist garbage) flooded every venue in our lives. The veterans would square blue falcons away real quick. That level of “parental” oversight is gone and the culture inside policing has changed. A lot of this is to do with technology, everything being recorded and such.

Idk, man, I had the pleasure of being acquainted with some real blowhards that were 20+ year vets back in the day. And it didn't matter whether it was burbs or cities. Rural areas are different since it's all sheriffs but even they are getting pretty ridiculous these days. But my sample size is very limited, so, obviously, my perception is very skewed.
