You outta put pressure on them to reevaluate their spending priorities. Do they spend money on alcohol? Do they buy fast food? Do they have a movie library? Where else is their money going that is optional?
I'm so sorry. Having woke parents is horrible. Yours sound pretty narcissistic. You may want to consider reading "Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents." It really helped my husband understand/deal with his narcissistic (and also woke) parents.
You seem like a nice young gentleman so I won't BS you, I'll share with you truth from the heart. Family is tough because you love them, but just because you are related doesn't make these individuals any more relatable than a stranger. You have to practice expectation management. But with your holiday circumstances, everything happens for a reason even though that reason is hidden from you at the moment, just have faith and it will become clear to you. Take the opportunity to get know yourself, your Creator and others better by perhaps volunteering to help the less fortunate. I don't know which state you live in, but if it happens to start with T and end with exas, were having a small family gathering on Thursday and you are welcome to join us. Best of wishes young pede.

Looks like KMYoda is making an offer for a Texas meal. Though, unlike most of us other states, just cause you're in the same state of Texas doesn't mean you can drive there and back in a day. Hopefully you're close to KMY and you two will have a great American Thanksgiving dinner.
