Went to NYC once with my dad on a day trip as part of his work. Flew. I might have been 8.

Went to the Statue of Liberty. Going to the boat went past a cop car parked along the docks there, didn't think much of it. Coming back, cops had arrested two diverse young gentlemen and were putting them in the car.

That's about the whole sum of my memories from that trip.
