It's a spin-off from the 2018 Spider Man game. In the new one, there's a new Spider-Man because Miles Morales (black Spider-Man) got bitten by a funky spider in the 2018 game and Peter's been taking him under his wing.

Peter Parker Spider-Man (the one you play as in the 2018 game) is still in the game, he's just absent from it for plot-reasons.

Don't look too deeply into it. They're not trying to replace Spider-Man with Miles Morales.

Miles Morand, came from that disaster "marvel ultimates line" do yourself a favor and don't look. He took over after Peter got killed in front of his own family. Honestly, he's the only thing from that line that shouldn't burn in the fire of cleansing. Barely. To make him the main of a spiderman game is mind-numbing.

The whole comics industry has destroyed itself going woke trying to capture a new younger audience and pander to the left. It is all but dead at this point. Instead of creating new heroes they have tokenized and systematically destroyed/replaced the originals.
