Didnt know you could get fired for medical reasons. I would talk to a lawyer

CrashXXL [S] 107 points ago +108 / -1

I found out I tested positive Thursday night, was told not to come to work Friday then got fired today. They said it was because I wasn’t wearing the transmitter they make us wear in the office for contact tracing but I had it in my pocket. Then when I pointed that out they said it was performance which is also BS.

have a lawyer send them a letter, as long as its a legit company you can probably get at least a few weeks of severence pay intil unemployment kicks in

CrashXXL [S] 78 points ago +79 / -1

I will follow up on that.

They help make the Covid vaccines and just went public so they are loaded.

Thank you!

Bro, you are gonna get free money from this. Call an employment attorney immediately. Here’s how it happens . You talk to the lawyer, tell him the whole story. He identifies their weak spots, he then sends them a nasty letter. They will immediately agree to cut a check and be done with it. Your later then takes 30% of it and you’ll be pissed, but then you’ll use the other 70% on paying of all your debt & buying guns and ammo.

"wearing the transmitter they make us wear in the office for contact tracing"

the fuck

13
duckstuck 13 points ago +13 / -0

It's unfortunately becoming more common as unit pricing drops. They look like Fitbit devices and more and more companies are buying into shit like this.

11
Cyer6 11 points ago +20 / -9

Tell them, "No, I'm not fired. I quit assholes!"

Just not to Texas. Thanks.

Pedeville 4 points ago +4 / -0

If you have it in writing that they first said its the transmitter then said it was because of performance, you have a pretty easy case me thinks

3
CrashXXL [S] 3 points ago +4 / -1

I’m getting final paperwork in the mail tomorrow but that’s what they said on the phone.

3
Dialectic 3 points ago +4 / -1

Transmitter? I think you’re better off not working at China R Us

Yeah, it sucks because the burden is on you to lawyer up, and then the company will just make up some bullshit about "His performance has been declining, we have coached him repeatedly on this" etc and back-date a paper trail. You could take out massive lines of credit and fund a legal battle, but the company likely has legal counsel already, it is a shit show.

If there is a plan to start something new, that's probably the move, even though OP is likely in the right and the company is in the wrong. The company would never go no the record saying they fired someone for contracting a virus, so OP would have an uphill battle.

16
CrashXXL [S] 16 points ago +17 / -1

After I called BS on their first 2 reasons (not getting tested on time, not wearing a contact tracing transmitter) they then said it was performance.

But I already formed an IT consulting company last year, I just don’t have any clients but now I’m starting a sunglasses business.

I also do standup comedy and have a podcast so I’m waiting for 1 of the 4 to make money.

13
busyDad 13 points ago +13 / -0

if they say it's performance based then they need to show a documented history including performance reviews and corrective action plans given. California, right? dont waste the opportunity!

2
CrashXXL [S] 2 points ago +3 / -1

Yes California.

8
shtpostinalotofmemes 8 points ago +8 / -0

Awesome! Yeah they sounds like cucked retards, always better to make it on your own!

10
CrashXXL [S] 10 points ago +11 / -1

Our CEO emailed the whole company and suggested they watch Gov. Cuomo’s news briefings back in March because they had “facts.”

I’m not sad at all.

Oh yea, also I’m a pro wrestler.

7
shtpostinalotofmemes 7 points ago +7 / -0

LOLOL you don't win an Emmy award for stating facts. LOLOLOLOLOL

4
GoldEagle97 4 points ago +4 / -0

No way, working the Indy circuit I’m guessing? Wouldn’t want to dox you of course.

2
CrashXXL [S] 2 points ago +3 / -1

I’ve had 1 match. Supposed to have another this weekend but now I tested positive.

But I was filming a movie 2 weeks ago with RVD.

3
PertinaciousPatriot 3 points ago +3 / -0

Dude, drop a link for your podcast, ill give it a listen. Also contact your states labor board and see if that company is in any violation. Its free and they will determine if it was wrongful termination, if it is then contact a lawyer

15
farangbak 15 points ago +15 / -0

I wasn’t wearing the transmitter

Yeah, I would have quit before it got to that point.

5
CrashXXL [S] 5 points ago +6 / -1

I started looking for a new job before I got fired because I was over it already so I’m not upset.

I don’t really want to do IT anymore though.

But my studio apartment is $1425 so I can’t just quit.

4
Capitalism_Fuck_Yeah 4 points ago +4 / -0

In the midwest you can get a small place for $600-$700. For $1425 you would get a full sized house with a nice yard in a good neighborhood.

3
Pedeville 3 points ago +3 / -0

My house with two apartments is 700$ and I live in most expensive country in the world pretty much lol

14
Rumble 14 points ago +14 / -0

Best of luck. Let us pedes know if we can help

8
CrashXXL [S] 8 points ago +9 / -1

I’ll let you guys know when my sunglasses company is up and running.

14
Demokraut_No_More 14 points ago +14 / -0

Not legal. Don't bend over.

12
BlondeBombshell88 12 points ago +13 / -1

Definitely sue for wrongful termination. Use the money to start your company.

11
Littleirishmaid 11 points ago +11 / -0

Did they think it wasn’t possible? Is it in the manual that you can be fired for getting sick?

8
CrashXXL [S] 8 points ago +10 / -2

After I tested positive, they said they got complaints I wasn’t wearing the contact tracing transmitter even though I had it in my pocket. Then they said I wasn’t getting tested on time. Basically, after I tested positive they decided to get rid of me.

9
Littleirishmaid 9 points ago +9 / -0

Where did you work, the 1984 Store?

8
CrashXXL [S] 8 points ago +9 / -1

an mRNA manufacturer in San Diego who’s biggest client is Pfizer

8
Littleirishmaid 8 points ago +8 / -0

You need a good lawyer.

I did see you had some fall back plans. I wish you well.

This

8
hloblart 8 points ago +8 / -0

They made you wear a transponder/transmitter for contact tracing? Did not know that was a thing. I can't imagine it is all that accurate unless there are those transponder walk through door frame things everywhere.

4
CrashXXL [S] 4 points ago +5 / -1

Yea it was supposed to keep track of people I’m around for more than 5 min

I’m pretty confident they were going to require us to get a vaccine, we helped make it.

4
deleted 4 points ago +4 / -0
3
Pedeville 3 points ago +3 / -0

Thoughts about a mrna vaccine never been allowed before and now they allow one after only a couple months being created and with nanotech in it?

0
CrashXXL [S] 0 points ago +1 / -1

I work in IT but I don’t trust a vaccine they rushed through.

xxxMAGA420xxx 7 points ago +7 / -0

I'm surprised people haven't started selling fake "covid negative" test results.

2
CrashXXL [S] 2 points ago +3 / -1

I tested negative about 15x

4
pepperconchobhar 4 points ago +4 / -0

There's also a strong possibility of a false positive. My doc refuses to even order the tests anymore. He says they do no good, are unreliable as hell, and only cause strife and confusion.

I'd suggest you get another test if you don't feel sick.

4
xxxMAGA420xxx 4 points ago +4 / -0

Who is your dealer?

Elon Musk is in need of a hook up.

5
Tejanopede 5 points ago +5 / -0

How did you get fired if you’re dead?

Weird..

5
Fecal_Fetus 5 points ago +5 / -0

At least you didnt get the flu.

4
Lurking-My-Life-Away 4 points ago +4 / -0

Everyone is all upset about you getting fired and I'm wondering what business you're going to start?

4
CrashXXL [S] 4 points ago +5 / -1

Sunglasses.

I’m also a standup comedian, pro wrestler and have a social media management/IT consulting company.

3
Lurking-My-Life-Away 3 points ago +3 / -0

Will you be selling online? What kind of sunglasses? Will you be selling sunglasses that can clip or slip on over prescription glasses?

I would be willing to purchase some sunglasses from a computer nerd wrestling comedian. I say go for it. What's the worst that can happen?

2
CrashXXL [S] 2 points ago +3 / -1

I just bought the domain to sell online. I’m looking at different manufacturers now. I’m starting with 1 style (the style that I actually wear) and putting my logo on it. All black, oversized squarish looking.

Gonna buy a couple hundred pairs then sell them on the boardwalk (I live by the beach). Once I sell those, I’ll start selling aviators and other styles. There’s a ton of local beach shops I want to sell to directly.

It’s funny, because I live right across the street from Blenders Ave I’m pretty sure that’s what they did.

3

3

Good luck with the lawsuit though.

2

2
Anonyman 2 points ago +2 / -0

I wish you luck.

2
TwitterIsTrash 2 points ago +2 / -0

Fired? That’s definitely not legal. The rule is 2 weeks quarantine, maybe without pay depending on the job. But they can’t fire you.

2
KakarikoKing 2 points ago +2 / -0

Do you think you caught the Rona while working? If so, you might have a Workers Comp claim as well.

CrashXXL [S] 0 points ago +1 / -1

Hard to say.

It all depends if you are in a "right to work state" which is funny way of saying "we don't need a reason to fire you."

1
CrashXXL [S] 1 point ago +2 / -1

I am. Stupid California.

2
Space_Force 2 points ago +2 / -0

Stupid New Yorker here, right back at you pede.

-6
GravityBounce1976 -6 points ago +3 / -9

Why is everyone pushing a lawsuit? That's socialist shit. The conservative position is that you have no right to work. And employers don't need to have a reason to fire you.

Stop reinforcing commie policies.

You dude, just get a new job.
