Obviously I think GEOTUS's follow up tweet helped suppress the doomer creeping up inside, but here's something else too:

Why announce it himself in the first place? I'm of the opinion that if cracks were starting to show, we wouldn''t hear it from Trump himself. This could have easily have been pushed off to @PressSec or a weeknight news dump in a effort to hide it. I think making this announcement so public may be part of something else too, besides trying to relieve GSA staff from violent and maybe credible threats.

Would we have preferred this move never happen in the first place? Of course. Lets also remember that POTUS still has directed federal agencies to proceed with his '21 budget plan. The fight ain't over 'pedes.
