Do you think conservatives in california are not staying home because their vote feels irrelevant?

Genuine question, because that part of their argument got me intrigued.

Who pushes for the abolishing of it? Which party?

If that's the case, then focus on solving that issue, not changing something else to create the possibility of solving the issue of voter enthusiasm.

If they stay home that’s on them. The electoral college is there to serve a purpose and it’s to avoid majority rule. Candidates would only care about campaigning and making promises to high population states. The way it is now you have to appeal to a broader base to win.

Na, Don't like the idea of NY and CA having more influence then 30 other states

Not a chance.

Real answer is an end to winner takes all rule in most states.

Split votes. More fair and as a bonus:

Republicans would win every election.

Nope from me too.

Nope. Bad idea for the same reason we don't add senate seats based on population.

I used to want to abolish the electoral college, but in recent years, I've seen how it's a bad idea. Without the electoral college, the only votes that would matter at all, are those of the major population centers. The big cities, which overwhelmingly vote Democrat. New York, L.A., D.C. That sea of red counties? Their voice would never be heard.

This goes against the system we have as a REPUBLIC; it's literally unconstitutional.

2
Tiquortoo 2 points ago +2 / -0

No. The system works. Spend your time convincing conservatives to vote!

NO...

NO

These people have COMPLETELY MISSED THE FUCKING POINT of the electoral college.

Their argument is:

Hey, should we abolish a thing we don't have ANY FUCKING CLUE why it exists?

That is a retarded argument, and a horrible idea.
