Fellow Canadian here, I am envious of the political movement happing in the US. Up here we are being led to the slaughter house and no one is fighting for us. All our politicians are left leaning, China loving dictators that are slowly eroding our culture, values and lifestyle. There is no real opposition to these practices. I only hope that the situation in the States will help awaken a few of my countrymen but it is almost futile fighting against the paid propaganda being aired on every medium.

Twenty years ago I thought that we were too far gone, too. Then I discovered conservative talk radio streaming over my brand new dial up connection. It was a revelation. I'd wake up in the morning, get the kids started on their day, then close the windows and blinds so the neighbors wouldn't hear, and listen.
As the kids got a bit older I worried that they'd repeat the things they heard, so I started using headphones so they wouldn't blurt out something socially unacceptable.
Then I found my first online conservative forum. For the first time in my 30 years on this earth, I got to listen to and speak with others who thought the things I'd been thinking for a long time. Then I found other forums. I discovered that I was far from alone.
I tentatively began "leaking" with friends and relatives. Just dropping a few things here and there to test the waters. I found that more than half of them were conservatives, too!!
I was in my early 30's when I realized that we weren't even rare. WE WERE LEGION. I dropped my fear and shame and carried my conservative values out in the open without fear. I've always been civil with those who don't agree with me and I don't pick fights. That respect is part of being an American. For the most part, they relax when they find out that I'm cool with them and everybody gets along fine.
We aren't fighting this battle right now because we became rarer. We did NOT! We became more common. We honed our arguments and got BETTER. We learned to become a big tent and how to welcome everyone. Our ideas have spread farther than they have in a half a century.
We're only fighting right now because THEY CHEATED.
Brother, you are NOT alone. You just have to find the others. You're not as far gone as you think, but people are cowed into silence. Shamed into silence.
