Personally, I get tired and burned out when I get sidetracked from what I want to accomplish to deal with sideline BS. Rudy is in a position to have sideline BS come in at all angles.
It isn't helpful. It probably isn't good optics. But it's natural and doesn't indicate that he is wrong or doubtful about any part of his main mission.
