I immediately fired him and requested my portfolio be transferred to a different institution that I use. I got another email after market close from his boss saying that they will honor my request “should [I] choose to follow through with it”, but he suggested I not “act rashly or emotionally” to an email from a portfolio manager. He even tried to get me to reconsider because “politics shouldn’t matter” when choosing a manager, and it shouldn’t matter who the guy supports or what he says about his “interpretation of the many factors that have great effect on the market” because his market decisions have resulted in a “gain that has beaten the market” since I opened the account there. Then he recommend I “consider my options” over the holiday weekend, while “appropriately socially distancing and wearing a mask” and let him know on Monday what I want to do.
Fuck. That. Guy. I told him no need to wait until after the weekend, the market is open tomorrow so he should start moving it then and provided him with the appropriate account information at my new institution.
